Tale of Three Cities

Rotterdam, Venice, New Orleans

The precedents to my thesis work, this semester long independent research project completed under Prof. Mario Cortes focused on how these three cities have adapted to sea level.

Weather it Together

A semester long study of the City of Annapolis through my urban planning class, City Design Principles and Policies, that culminated in my report "Annapolis Maryland, Resiliency of Culture and Place in the Face of Rising Seas"

Philip Merrill Environmental Center

In the spring of Third Year, Alex Boardwine, John White, and myself dived into a semester long research project of the world's first LEED Platinum building — the headquarters of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. This project has informed all of my work since, promoting an overall attitude adjustment in my design process.

Case Studies

Starting with the spring of Third Year and the semester long study of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's headquarters, the world's first LEED-Platinum building, case studies have allowed me to guide my education towards sustainability and resiliency.

So far, there have been three major case studies.

  • The Philip Merrill Environmental Center

SmithGroup & Chesapeake Bay Foundation

Spring 2019

  • Weather it Together, Cultural Resiliency

City of Annapolis

Fall 2019

  • Independent Study - Rotterdam, Venice, New Orleans

With Prof. Cortes

Spring 2020
