A Bit About Me

I am a graduate of Virginia Tech's professional Bachelor of Architecture program whose focus is on how design can improve our lives and promote resiliency. My thesis and education studied how architecture and urban planning can become a driving force for coastal resiliency, while preserving, nurturing, and adapting the unique local cultures to the adverse times ahead.

My professional ideology underscores on how I [try to] live my life. At Uni, I biked to campus every day. I've nearly cut out trash and non-recyclable plastic from how I live. While planning my post college life, I begun refitting a long abandoned 1973 Gulfstar 41 foot ketch — to live on.  I chose to liveaboard not only for its affordability, that will allow me to pay off my huge student debt quickly and support my ability to start The Chesapeake Project, but because it makes my research and passion around resiliency my daily life. This refit will be done sustainably, putting my actions where my mouth is. In the end, the goal is to live net-zero and off the grid.  Living on the boat will provide first-hand experience and access to the issues I focus on; beyond the experiences I already have.
